We left in-house roles at Allbirds, Northbeam, Cocokind, and Ramp because we wanted to ship without the meetings. We started ORBIT in 2023 with the rule that we'd never grow past four. So far, so good.
Agencies sell strategy because strategy is what they can charge by the hour. We sell the metric because that's what the founder wakes up worrying about.
We pick the metric on Day 1, write it on the wall on Day 2, and refuse to celebrate anything else for the next twelve months. Vanity metrics go in a footnote, if at all.
Every channel is run by someone with 8+ years in-house. There's no "junior strategist" doing the actual work behind a Senior Director's title. If your account manager is junior, that's because we hired the wrong person — and they're already gone.
Most performance agencies are sticky in a bad way. We write the project plan with an exit milestone — usually when in-house can run it without us. Then we leave gracefully and refer the next agency if we don't fit.
Week 1. We rebuild your attribution, run a complete account audit, identify the 2-3 biggest levers. End of week: a single document with what we'd do, and the metric we'd bet on.
Weeks 2–3. We ship the first set of experiments live — usually 3-5 paid social tests, an email flow rebuild, and a landing page A/B. Real money, real exposure, real learning.
Ongoing. Weekly reviews, monthly business reviews with the founder/CMO, quarterly P&L deep-dives. We stay until the in-house team can run it without us. Then we leave.
